NextEra Energy – Cedar Springs I & II Transmission Line

Project consists of two separate 230kV transmission lines, one 22 miles in length (Cedar II) from the Cedar I, III, & Shared Facilities Substation, and one 6-mile line (Cedar I), from the Cedar II substation. The project is located near Douglas, WY, with the Cedar Springs II line terminating at the Windstar Substation near Glenrock, WY. Both lines are constructed from steel mono-poles, with direct embed tangents, guyed running angles and dead ends, along with pier foundation dead ends, framed with braced post insulators. The conductor on Cedar Springs II consists of bundled 1272 Bittern, with Cedar Springs I consisting of single conductor 1272 Bittern. Brink is constructing both substations on this line as well.

This project presents multiple challenges with access in rough terrain, seasonal lambing restrictions, wildlife restrictions, and pipeline crossings.
